Does anyone know if there are other makes of extension/canopy that can be used with Montana 6?

just a question, why don't you want the monty extension. It is specific to the tent so would give the best fit.

I have the Montana extension already (not used it yet..next weekend 1st time)-Friends have just bought the Montana 6 but were wondering if there is anything else that would fit that is cheaper(than £99 at Go Outdoors).

I guess, if you're not bothered about a perfect fit, they could rig up a tarp/poles to give a sheltered area?
It wouldn't be as good as an extension but you could get a kind of canopy effect from it.
An affordable alternative and better than nowt, eh?

Its just for cooking under. So that would seem a good idea.

we bought the extension for cooking under too, its brill I can cook when raining and not get wet!

Erm I haven't recently, but did last year - do a net search of all the camping stores - i ended up getting Monty, Extension, Carpet and Footprint for under £400 with Go Outdoors price match plus 10%.
