Hi,

I have just taken delivery of a Gelert Horizon 8 and tried putting it up in the back garden. The pin and ring system allows the tent poles to connect across the tent. There are 5 tent poles, and each one connects to the tent by a pin/ring on either side.

However, the middle (main) pole only has a pin and ring on the one side. There is not a corresponding pin/ring on the other side although there is s strap.

I'm pretty sure this is a manufacturing mistake and that there should a a pin/ring on both sides. Could someone with this model comment? I'm new to camping so it could be my mistake.

Thanks

Mark

Should be ring pin on both sides. It wont work without it,as you wont keep any tension in the pole.It is a manufacturing fault,I should sent it back.

Sounds like you have a ring and pin missing.

I would call the store where you bought it and ask them to send you one. They are simple to put on . It is like putting a key on a ring :)

Many thanks for the advice everybody, much appreciated. So sounds like a fault. Bit of a pain, but at least we found out in the back garden and not whilst camping with 4 kids!
