We have a Coleman Columbus 8 which is great for the 5 of us to sleep in, but would be tricky if we had wet weather as the porch is pretty small. Also, we are thinking of holding a camping party for our son and would need a tent to cook in and let the children sit in if it was raining. I guess what we are looking for would be something like a gazebo with sides. Does anyone have any ideas? We don't want a ground sheet.
Thanks.

Argos gazebo? with sides? I'm sure they sell them. Word of warning though, put extra guy lines and heavy duty pegs on it, had so many break from wind and rain over the years! Great for cooking in though!
Why not buy a proper camping utility tent? Most have a removeable groundsheet so you don't have to use it if you don't want to. Prices start at less than £40
Far safer than a gazebo which have a nasty habit of turning into giant kites and can cause a lot of damage (many camp sites have actually banned them)
We've just bought the khyam day shelter its big enough to put kitchen equipment in and sit down to eat. The ground sheet is fully removable. It has two fixed mesh windows and two sides that roll up/ pole out to create an awning. Very nice bit of kit, about £100.

Or pick up an old second hand frame tent - local free ads papers are the best, just don't put the bedrooms up in it, hey presto, lovely big day tent/utility tent, fraction of the cost! We got one for £30! Especially good for camping parties at home because you're not having to transport the usually heavy old poles! Great for barbecues and all sorts of things - you could even put the bedrooms back in and use it for the in-laws when they come to stay!!

Now that is a brilliant idea, why didn't I think of that before!
