Hi I'm wanting some advice please. This is our first bash at camping!!!

I've just bought a second hand sunncamp vario 6 (collecting during week!)

I have a cooker, gas bottle, kettle, pans and plates! I also have a picnic table and chairs.

I think i just need lanterns, quilts and airbeds. Please feel free to tell me if we need anything else!

forgot to say its me, hubby, daughter (5) son (2)

Thanks Jo :-)

Congrats-When do you get to go away in it? Your kids will love it17 There is a checklist on this page herehttp://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/articles/view.asp?id=7

Make sure you have all their waterproof clothing so they can still enjoy being outside in the bad weather, ideally an all in one waterproof so they can then roll around outside which my children seem to love doing! lol

We are relatively new to all this too, but I'd say it really helps making room in the car for your own pillows (I am sure hardened campers would disagree).

We have managed fine without table and chairs if you are short of space.

A buggy to strap your 2 year old into while you put up the tent would really help & a dry run of putting the tent up at home is slightly less embarrassing than doing it to an audience on a campsite!

Have fun!

we had the vario 5 tent a while ago,its a excellent tent, even has poles running down length of tent for rigidity.sounds like you have almost everything.do you have a peg extractor?ONE thing you haven't mentioned is a CORKSCREW.How about a pack of cards,we never go away without a pack.as has been said,go to the local site or your garden first if possible. We have just got an oldish trailer tent, and we are going to the c&cc temporary site 5 miles away to try it out, before we go away to cornwall in 39 sleeps.WHATEVER YOU DO,ENJOY IT,THE FIRST TIME ERECTING IS THE WORST.It gets easier after that, then you will look on ebay and dream about the new tent, then a trailer, its so addictive.regards,Adrian
