Looking for a good reliable durable spacious tunnel tent for rainy weeks in the lakes. 2 adults 1 toddler. Wondered how the Aztec 400/600 stacks up.

Also considering Vango Tigris, Outwell Nevada, and Khyam Nevada.

I don't have that model, but I do have an Aztec tent and I can say with my experience with mine is that they are great! I have had no problems with mine at all, it's held up very well against typical British weather, no leaks anywhere and being as it's double skinned, it's quite warm too.

Thanks nikki... and this is where I show my inexperience - what is double skinned?

I have done a lot of camping with other people but never had the responsibility of actually buying a tent before!

Awww you will be fine in choosing your new tent, just listen to the very wise people on this forum and it will fall into place

As for 'double skinned' it means my tent has the inner dome tent with 4 bedroom pods, then the fly sheet that has both front and rear porches. If you click on my link below you can watch my video walkthrough of my Aztec Cantera

The Aztec tents are very well made and very reliable. They have a lifetime guarantee (excepting poles) and you can camp in them with the utmost confidence.

i have the aztec galeria for a weekend short stay tent and its brilliant. never leaked but have not had it out in a storm as yet so cant comment on that. I cant fault it but my OH doesnt like the bottom of the door areas as they are not fully sewn in.

In this i mean the zip goes doen either side and leaves the bottom open so technically its not a fully SIG. hope that makes sense. Outwell nevada L has a fully SIG if this is an issue for you. i would prob look at that tent too.

I have a Galeria 6 and really like this tent. V easy to put up by myself (with minimal help from 6yr old). Has stood up v well to wind and rain of recent summers. Don't have a problem with door not being sewn right round - actually quite like that for a bit of fresh ar. Feel a bit hemmed in when in tents with all doors zipped right round. As usual, personal choice.
