I would say not. In my opinion, the so called rain porch isn't really up to the mark to stop anyone getting wet. And it won't do much good at keeping the sun at bay either.
I struggle to understand the reasoning behind this porch thingee. It just seems to be a rather fiddly way of keeping the door open, given the hassle of additional poles and guys.
I think that you'd be much better going for a proper canopy or tarp or utility tent, if you plan to cook under cover.
we use a qechua tarp with our nevada - we use suitcase cookers on the floor so if we have to cook under it there is almost no danger (i hope). Have never used the door as an awning, it seems like too much faff. We are planning to use our vango sun canopy next time we take it away.
Would agree the'porch' is not really good for much - we use our montana 12 side canopy on it to give a better area - though did notice a thread I think in the equipment area about a canopy - vango one that people had seen on a nevada 4 at go outdoors.
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
Thanks, folks. I've got myself a pair of porch poles to make a canopy out of the front door (I hope). I'll be cooking on the floor, or a very low table.
