Driving you crazy eh Clive! The best advice is try to go see 'em...but the chances of that I guess would be remote. Reviews on this site show that both tents are reasonably well received, so I don't think you need worry about them as tents.
You should think carefully about the different heights...can you see yourself crouching or crawling around in the Starcamper 3? I believe you can just about sit in the porch area on a camp chair though. The Sc has a full sewn in groundsheet, some like that, others don't.Tho,and in my opinion a mistake, it doesn't zip shut across the bottom of the door and midges, in theory, can still get in. I hate midges! The Outwell has the height for standing obviously and sewn in groundsheet to the bedroom only. Both are easy to pitch and de-camp, one small personal gripe with the Outwell, I happen to hate the sleeping across tent layout...it's bloody annoying if OH wants to visit the loo in the night, though you say you'll mostly be on your own.
However, if you still cant decide, I would go for the Outwell. If you had one now I don't think you'd consider giving up that extra height and moving into the Sc. So, if you will be spending evenings with a neighbour or two, the Outwell will feel spacier, even though the living porch is not that big. Probablly about £20 dearer I'd guess. The fact that you are looking at the Outwell suggests that you don't fancy walking about like prehistoric man!
