Hello, looking for advise on which tent to buy....We're a family of 2 x adults, 4 yr old twins and 11 week old baby plus Large Dog! Budget of around £350 - £400. Been camping a few times before but have always borrowed my sisters very old Vango tent, so now looking at getting our own. Camping trip booked for the end of this month...So recommendations on tents much appreciated.
Have seen a Outwell NL 2006/07 model in good condition for £300 is this a good buy?
Many Thanks

We have a Wynnster Mercury 9, which is a great tent with a huge living area - ideal with the good old unpredictable British weather! It has 3 sleeping pods, the main one being big enough for 5 people, which could be ideal for you as you can then have baby in the bedroom with you, and the twins can share one of the smaller pods. We have 2 girls and they share a bedroom so we don't bother with the 3rd one as it gives even more living/storage space. The living area is high enough to walk about in and the new version of this tent has a SIG, whereas our older version doesn't. It's within your price range too. Check out the reviews on here to see what other Mercury 9 owners say. Good Luck!
Just been for the weekend in our Kampa Lulworth 6, what great tent, lots of ventilation during the day but draught free at night, a doddle to put up and take down, my advice would be to go and look at as many as you can, you need to think about what you are going to put where and if you want a a SIG or not? If you see them up you can get a better idea of what sort of tent you want. I personally prefer tunnel tents to one with pod as you have more sides to put things against and you get windows to see out of. Downside is bedrooms not as seperate and private. It's personal choice really.
Hi,I can definitely recommend the Norfolk Lake, good price if you can get it!!
One thing though, As its an older version the bedrooms will be separate along the back, and not able to open up into one big room.....If this doesnt bother you then you would have a real bargain!

norfolk lake at that price seems like agood deal we got ours two years ago as a display model for 500 and then got side extension too well worth the money just a little bit more luxurious than some of the others
Thanks every one for your replies. We would really like to get the Norfolk Lake if i can get it for £300 but i'm worried because its 2/3years old does this mean i'm not going to get much life out of it? Also mumshadenough sorry for being thick but what do you mean by the bedrooms not being able to open them up into one big room? Thanks again
OK have narrowed it down to 5 tents opinions please:
Really want the Norfolk Lake 2nd hand 2006 model but if I can't get that at the price i want then these are my next choices!
Khyam Aspen 09
Khyam Montreal 09
Khyam Quebec 8 09
Khyam Toronto 8 09
Does anyone know if the SIG's in the above tents are completely sewn in at the doors? Its just that we have a Dog and we wouldn't want him to escape in the night!
Thanks

Definately recommend the Quebec 8 (we have the Ontario 8 which is bascially the same tent but the Quebec has steel poles)
Has full sewn in groundsheet and at the doors it toggles up so that it can go flat (no trip hazzard) during the day when the doors are open. The groundsheet comes up a good few inches above the base of the door. Our dog has never escaped or even tried and she sleeps right by the door!!
