I have a Nevada m and would like a side or front extension. Don't know what to go for.

It looks like there are 2 types:

Outwell Nevada Side Extension - which some peolpe here have said does not fit the Nevada M only the Nevada L - can any one please confirm this as most web sites have the Nevada Side Extension as a extra for the Nevada M (all photos always show the Nevada L with the Side Extension).

or this:

Outwell Nevada M Front Extension - which seams to be a custom fit for the Nevada M. Down side to this is it looks very big, do campsites allow you this amount of space? Also harder to put up and it costs more. A smaller version of this might be better.

also, has anyone got the extra poles for the front of the tent - to hold up the front flap, maybe for cooking this could do?

Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes

New! Please upload a photo of your tent to the Tent Showcase!

The side extension is certainly not designed to fit the Nevada M though some members claim to have used it successfully.

You shouldn't have any problem regarding space on campsites; I've never had a problem with the extension to my Minnesota and the dimensions are similar. Anyway, you are only adding about 1.4m to the overall length as about half of the length of the extension overlaps with the tent. For this reasons you don't want to consider anything much shorter.

There have been a couple of threads on the uselessness of propping up the front flap of tents; in particular a thread on the front of a Nevada.

Consensus seems to be that this is just a waste of time, effort and money, especially if you want to cook under cover.

I think that you'd be better saving for a proper extension, canopy or tarp.  More "permanent", proper cover, and a whole lot less fiddly.
