Looking for a new tent at moment, can anyone recommend an 8 berth that will fit a camping and caravan club site. Favouring a Vango Amazon 800 at the moment but know that the pitch size is too big. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Hi,
You need to be looking at something 5 metres wide or less.
Have you considered say a 6 berth and then use a pup tent

Khyam Ontario 8 is 7.5m x 3.7m and we've never had a problem.
Absolutely fab tent and can highly recommend it.

Just had a thought......Gelert Meridian 10..This is a very good tent with 5000HH with a good bedroom layout/configuration.Very spacious and only 400cm wide.
Great price as well at £299

Thanks for the advice. Has anyone tried a coleman Mckenzie x8. What are they like. Also are aerobeds any good or do they keep going down like most other airbeds ?

Aerobeds are fab.
They are not cheap, but we get the best nights sleep on ours and never have any backache(unlike our home bed)
You do loose a tiny amount of air, especially on the first night as this is to do with a sudden temperature change and your body heat.

The Tigris 800 is an 8 berth and easily fits on a C&CC standard sized pitch. Lovely tent that I can highly recommend. Or there's the HiGear Kalahari 8 - my friend has just purchased one and it looks fab.

Thank you, especially about the Amazon 800. This is our favoured tent at the moment but was concerned about the size and getting onto campsites with it. Has anyone been charged for 2 pitches this season for having a big tent?

I`m looking at the Khyam Missouri for that very reason. I think most Vis a Vis tents are pretty good for the CC&C pitches.
Aerobeds.....marvellous
