After a few years with a Vango Venture 500 that wouldn't stay up in the wind we bought a Coleman Weathermaster L.

It is a brilliant looking tent but I have just one niggle. Why does it have to have two seperate bedroom pods, the Vango had a full 4 berth bedroom but if you wanted to you could put a divider up.

The Coleman just has the two seperate smallish pods so ever if it just the two of us that go away we still have to use just one two man pod and can't 'spread out'.

Does anyone know if you can get a 'universal' bedroom that would replace the two small ones or does a bedroom out of a different Coleman fit it.

Any help or any suggestions would be welcome

Hi there,

You can buy a four berth bedroom for the coleman but it attaches to the clip fasteners at the other end of the tent. it would mean using the side doors and not the main front one but it's an option at least. Saw one on ebay a couple of weeks ago and you can get them in other places.

Hi all (sorry If I’m thread hijacking, but my query is exactly the same),

I too recently purchased a Weathermaster L (the “newer” grey version) - An excellent tent. I also would like to get the extra sleeping compartment but they appear very hard to find on the internet.

Found one guy on eBay, but they are the “older” green ones for a Galileo and a bit pricey to my liking - £50 all in. Found a mention of them as an optional extra when purchasing the tent from Outdoor Mega Store, but they are out of stock (I will try to get in touch with them and enquire).

Anyone know of a dealer who can get these? Has anyone tried to get stuff direct from Coleman UK (if indeed you can)?

Any help much anticipated

I emailed Coleman with the same question and i got a very direct 'no' in reply. So, if anyone finds a bedroom tent that fits it'd love to know too!

To update you on this.

I emailed Outdoor Mega Store asking if they sold the inner bedroom as a separate item (and if it was a genuine Coleman). They responded saying, “yes” on both counts.

They have just sold me the 4 berth inner for £39.99 (+£4.99pp).  This was just at my cut-off point price wise.

It’s not on their web site as an item, so you have to phone them (mention that is available on the web as an optional extra only when you buy the tent). They were very helpful.

Hope this is of use.

I've jusy bought one from Ebay, £45.00 plus £5.00 postage. (Post label said £7.50 when it arrived!) Going to be using it next week so i'll let you know how it goes.
However, it is meant to fit the newer version, not the 2007 green version that i have and it's also meant to fit on the end where the large window is. Anyway, i want to take out the 2 small bedrooms and put the big one in it's place but i now have a problem on how to fix it!
The old pods are fixed with toggles around the top and clips at the bottom but the new tent has clips all the way around.
Going shopping today to try to get some bungee cord so i can fashion a way to fit it! Any ideas are welcome!
Thanks.

Yes they are "buggers" for not having the same fixings at either end of the tent.

Look forwards to hearing how you get on. I'll update when mine arrives (Monday hopefully)
