Hello All ,

The story....so far !

My mate and I have been going to England for the last two years to meet up with our friends down there and we do all the outdoor stuff like fishing , shooting , all great fun . but we use my mates 2 man tent and it nearly keeps us dry most days   but i find it VERY claustrophobic so i bought the Hi Gear Zinobia as i like lots of space , so I am asking what people think about it with regards to ...is it a good/ bad tent , is it very hard to pitch ....etc, is there any video of someone pitching one of these ......I am hoping i can get my wife and kids to go away for a weekends camping to see if they would enjoy it.

Any thoughts on this would be great......and also the do's and don't's of camping...anything that might make the experience a bit better

Thanks for the welcome and info , could you go as far as giving me the names of the better tents in the same price range or close to it so i can go and look at them

We bought the Zenobia 6 and took it on it's first outing for 4 days lastweekend.  There were only 2 of us so we only put 1 bedroom in.  This gave us plenty of living /storage space however I suspect with both bedrooms in you would only be able to have 4 chairs and a very small table in the living area.

We found it very easy to put up although the instructions are not the best so some of it was trial and error.  We had wind and rain and the tent stayed dry throughout.

I would recommend it but as I and OH are very new to camping I'm sure that there are other better tents out there.  It fitted our price bracket and requirements when we bought it.

Thanks again Ihqrxhi, it sounds as though you enjoyed the tent and it done the most important thing in keeping you warm and dry .

FORMER SCOUT : I don't want to lay out much more than what i have piad for this tent £149 , just incase the family don't want to use it and it ends up only getting used once or twice a year., as i have not even opened the bag on this one yet i could just exchange it if there is a better one for around the same money.....but if you could tell me which ones are better and why they are better that would be great

You guessed right it's a family of four , I will look at the Michigan but don't think they had any left at Go Outdoors but will check again , I am going on the reviews that people have posted on the Zinobia and have not come across a bad review yet it all sounds very good.Just had a look at the Michigan .......and it looks very nice so I am off to check reviews on it and no doubt another trip to GO is on the cards.....lol

We have a Zenobia. We are new to camping and bought it for the reason that it looked simple enough to put up. We had a trial last weekend and from start to finish it took us 45 mins and was really simple to put up, have to say we picked a good day for it though. We are using for 2 Ad 2 Ch and for the price range was just what we wanted and for me seems more than adequate on space, but our first trip in a couple of weeks will be the big test.

TheBonds , please let me know how you get on with the tent when you go away in a couple of weeks
