I've had my eye on one of these for a while now. I currently own a Gelert Eiger 2 but have been thinking that if I want to go hiking I should get a smaller lightweight tent, but haven't seen anything cheap enough. Today I noticed that Argos have slashed the price from £25 to £18 so I grabbed one.

I've put it up in the garden this evening and I'm impressed by the interior space and how easy it was to put up. I reckon its a bargain for the price!

I have had a nose in argos at these pro action tents and haven't bought one yet. They seem to be cheaper than the others and i was worried this would show in the quality

If you look at the reviews for the Argos tents the quality is reflected in the price. Probably won't do too well in our lovely rain we've had of late!

Average rating 9.67/10 from 6 reviews. Would be tempted myself but they're out of stock near me.

I concur, in this case I think the quality is pretty good, especially considering the price that's being paid. I left it up last night and we had some heavy rain but there was no problems this morning.

I`ve just taken the hike lite up to Orkney on cycle tour. Heavy rain and strongish winds (40mph) did not phase it. I am well impressed for the money (£24) in the sale . It was light and compact for the panniers , NO condensation problems and quick & easy to put up.

The only down sides are the lack of space for gear and the colour which is a matter of opinion

Since my last post about the hikelite from argos I`ve taken the tent to the Hebrides for 4 nights of the most horrendous rain I`ve ever camped in. The first night I was camped in a very boggy, sloping field and the groundsheet did leak slightly but not enough to cause problems. The fly however kept off a heavy prolonged downpour going on for several hours. Over the next 3 nights I was camped in fields which were very wet but not with standing water and the groundsheet was fine.  However there was torrential rain which was persitant with very little let up and by the last night water was seeping through the fly but not into the inner tent.

Winds were fairly strong and I felt the tent would have coped well with much stronger winds. In conclusion I think this is a well designed and well made tent which is great value for money. It copes with all but the absolute worst of British weather in the summer.

3 in stock near me, might pick one of those up. Cheers.

EDIT: This has no inner tent though does it?

Wasnt there a discussion ages back that the new versions lack an inner or something? In the Argos pic it looks like there is no inner?

Yes there is an inner. I haven't got this tent, but the reviews say 'room for a rucksack in porch'. However, I have a feeling that there are a lot of mesh panels in the inner tent, not sure.

Does have an inner and there is a lot of mesh but I dont find it too cold and infact helps with ventilation/condensation

Well bought one "just in case".

Might try it out over next few weeks, an overnight mountainbike mini "expedition". lol

Im a bit slow on the uptake. Just dawned on me that they are now £17.99 at Argos. I`ve gone and reserved another one as a spare. At that price you cant go wrong, the poles are worth more than that.
