Okay kinda got it down to a choice of 2 - lots of people have written about the Icarus 500 and the Outwell Nevada M - so sorry to repeat here but it is difficult to ultimately decide on what to go for and I have to decide by tomorrow morning! This may purely be decided on the basis that it is might be impossible to get the Icarus 500 now. How does the Tigris 400 compare (aside from that it being 4 berth rather than 5)? The icarus 500 is described as a "weekend" tent - it'll just be me and my partner so space is fine but we will want to holiday up to 2 weeks in the tent we choose both in the uk and abroad - is this tent up to longer than weekend stays in variable conditions?Similarly will the Outwell Nevada M be up for more than "weekend" breaks?Does the price of the Nevada M reflect a true difference in quality? In the past there seem to have been quite a few problems with this tent - is that still the case? Which one to go for? Help please

I have a Tigris 400 and I think it is perfect.

In the bedroom area we can comfortably get a double mattress plus all our clothes and stuff. In the living area we can comfortably get a table and two chairs so we can sit inside if the weather is less than perfect.

I think the only thing I would buy extra is either a canopy or an extension. This will mean that if we are away for longer than a couple of days we can add a bit of room for storage, otherwise we don't think we need to bother.

Sorry I can't comment on the other two tents though.

The bedrooms opens to one large one and the livng area you can get a table, 3 chairs and some stoage boxes easily, we cook outside.

Our side door is a little tight we just don at t use that one, ther are 3 doors around the front.

We have the Nevada M 2009 Mocha (New Version This Season) This is a great tent with a good sized double bedroom and a single/storage bedroom.

I can report that the problem with tension on the rain safe door has been corrected by a couple of modifications to the tent. The pole over the door is now angled and an adjustment strap has been added. Rain Safe Door Tension

I managed to buy the Tent from Millets for £199.99 and used the tent exchange scheme to get an extra 20% off (paid £159.99 on August 3rd 2009). If you call individual stores you may be lucky and find stock at the above price. No longer available on line though.

You will appreciate the extra width and space of the Nevada M and the extra side door (has 2 side doors + 1 front door) for added ventilation. I too was looking a the Tigris/Nevada and opted for the Nevada due to size and "feel" of the tent over the Tigris 400.

If you get a chance try to see both tents erected/on display. One persons dream tent is another persons nightmare! My personal recomendation would be the Nevada M. I highly recommend this tent!

However the Tigris is well priced at £150 - £160. Quality wise I personally think both tents are about the same with the Nevada having a couple of extra features (mesh inner doors). If you can find the Nevada M at Millets and can use the Tent exchange scheme (any old tent will do I used a very old Tesco 2 man tent = £40 off) then it really has to be the Nevada M/ Otherwise the decision is yours!
