just bought this new tent and on our first outing wonder about why these bits of velcro are through the centre of the tent on the inside on the material frm one sde of the tent to the other side floor to floor i wouldnt think the tent was capable of supporting anything other than a light cable but this would touch the tent material any ideas please i am a novice

Got the same tent and we wondered the same thing on our first trip lol.
We came to the conclusion they were cable runners but I have to say they make great hanging loops for carrier bag bin liners and the like.

well sasyb we think the same how long you used the horizon 8 and have you any bad experiences of it or tips it is rather high which is why we bought it so i can stand up but causes problems i think in windy conditions i think. there is also only two of us so we keep the double bedroom and keep the two others out leaving a very large foot area cant do being cramped

We are newbies too rhino, only one week under our belts so far.  This was however in scotland so had heavy rain light rain drizzly rain and oh yes heavy rain again lol.  Also had wind but nothing too strong.  Our tent was brilliant, I love it.  No leaks plenty of room, we too had the big pod up as this time there was only 3 of us and you get a huge amount of space.

We loved it so much we are going again next week, this time to Anglesey and I am soooo excited lol.  Never thought I would turn into a camper but I am totally hooked, probably because the tent is so perfect for us.

Hope you enjoy yours and I will report back after next trip.

Sassy

If you do a search for horizon porch on tent talk, advice and recommendations it does have some pointers on there that might help.  As far as I could see at the showroom the guy ropes do go over the top of the tent but not that sure really.

Hi rhinoatcas, I have also just bought the porch for the Horizon 8 and it fits a treat. Just remember that the flap that goes over the tent, spans either side of two of the tent poles and is elasticated so pulls relativley tight and the two straps just peg down on the opposite side of the porch. The porch itself makes a good seal to the tent unlike the Kyham ones which I saw. One small critisism is that there is a 2-3 inch gap around the bottom of the porch. That is only a small niggle, apart from that its great addition. Have fun!
