Hi All
I was in Manchester Decathlon yesterday to look at the Base Seconds (£79) to pop on the front of our Base 4.2 but whilst there noticed their Base Seconds Full, were reduced to £89.95. So we got one of those instead (allows a bit more flexibility as we also have the smaller 2 seconds 3 to pop on)

I can't find them on their website so perhaps they're not making them any more or they're coming out with a brand new super duper one.

Anyway thought I'd pass it on, if anyones after one!

Hi,
I wonder if you can tell me, are these tents draughty?! lol I know that sounds like a crazy question (especially for a tent) BUT I've read a few reviews on these quechua tents and have read a few times that they are of thinner material as they are designed for europe where the weather is better than the UK this makes them a bit draughty? ! comments please

everything will be ok in the end, if its not ok, its not the end. Anon.

Hi
We've got the Base 4.2 but have only spent a weekend in it. I have nothing to compare it to, we have never had a tent with a SIG. However, the groundsheet 'velcroes' in to the tent (at least it does on the 4.2) so it feels quite snug inside (plus we have added a tent carpet)
There are some reviews of all the Quechua tents on this website so they might help? I've left one for the 4.2.

We have a 3sec air when the flaps are closed too, if it is windy it can get cool

I think you'd be o.k. in one of the normal ones, there pritty good in the rain, would be brill if they had a canopy over the door.

Andy

I have a couple of Quechua bases, and even when I have twinned them, I have not noticed any draughts in windy conditions.

The main ventilation is at the top of the tent.

Even though there are very small gaps (see my photos on the tent review) between the 2 tents when twinned, again, I did not feel any draughts.

The trouble with getting it right first time is nobody appreciates how difficult it is!

We've got several 2 second tents and a 4.2. Only used them in Europe BUT it was very windy and thundery.

I have to say I think the bedroom pods are slightly cooler than our Coleman vis a vis - but not badly so - may be because the pods are slightly smaller. No difference in the main area.
