Hi Guys

Was just wondering if any of you use a Sunncamp Frame Tent?  Or if any of you have seen any recently!!  We have a Sunncamp Palace and used it this year for 2 weeks in Cornwall, it was just me and the hubby this year as kids decided to do their own thing.  We were a bit worried a only 2 pairs of hands this time instead of 4 but managed to get it up and down by ourselves. We also have a Sunncamp Sport tunnel tent which we used this weekend (this is known as our 'weekend tent'!), but decided that the frame tent was better to use for 2 weeks.  However, frame tents seem to be a minority now, we replaced our old frame tent with this one 4 years ago.  Was just wondering if frame tents are a dying breed.

We've got a Sunncamp Sprint which is polyester on a steel frame with a SIG. It's a brilliant tent and has a double skin throughout. It's ideal for the she-devil and myself  it's listed as a 4 berth but as you know tent manufacturers tend to tell porkies regarding numbers of berths. We've also got a Cabanon Pacific but much prefer the Sunncamp. Cabanon have got this reputation, without justification in my opinion, as being the Rolls Royce of tents. I've never been able to see it. Very few Cabanon frame tents have got a SIG and it's little wonder they are having some difficulties trading. I'm not a cow so why would I want to live on grass?

OK we have a folding camper - basically because of Richard's arthritis - if he sleeps too near the floor for more than a couple of days it play up.  But we do have frame tents, and I wouldn't get rid of them.
If I was going for any length of time with the kids but not Richard I would take my Easycamp Kos 6 - which I can get up solo.     there is no way I could get the equivilent sized dome up solo.

I agree with the three posters above - frame tents are so much easier to put up than any equivalent sized dome or tunnel tent and provide better quality space inside. Canvas frame tents have been selling very well on Ebay this year so it would be good to think that more people are appreciating the strengths of this classic tent design.

Having wasted too many years camping in nylon tents myself, I now love the comfort and security of canvas, so a canvas frame tent would be my first choice. But, there are some who seem to like nylon frame tents ...

hi

three out of my four tents are canvas frame tents, one is a marachal, one is a lamont and one is un-nameable (buts its that big we call it the village)

i love them all and use 1 or all of them every time we go out

(the forth, nylon tent is relegated to the sons camping trips with mates)

i think that you just cant get the height, space, ease of pitch and breathability in non frame tents,

Sharon

hi, new to the site but i have just bought a frame tent from our local car boot sale.no name on it but from looking at pics the nearest i can find is a suncamp. i got the 6 berth tent, 2 sleeping bags and a water container for the bargain price of £30. my daughter and i put it up ourselves and it took us 40mins max. i am so pleased with it.it is in great condition and has been really looked after. curtains and pegs were all complete so just waiting to go out in it nxt month with my son, my stepdaughter in her dome tent and  friends in thier new dome tent for a long weekend. having just got into camping(dont know why we didnt do it years ago) i wanted something that i could stand up in. looked at the dome tents and after trying to help my step daughter put hers up yesterday i am so glad we got a frame tent.if anything its going to be fun putting 2 large dome tents up but relatively tame putting my frame tent up when we go. anyway everyone really looking forward to going so hope we have a good time.
