Just don't roll the poles up in it then sit on it to squish it. Pack them seperate if must be....and if so, remember poles are delicate. Don't throw an unpadded bag of poles into the boot of the car or heavy stuff in top of them. Don't do that even if they ARE padded!
Best thing to do is to take a large bin bag or Ikea blue bag with you in case you need to pack up in a hurry or if the flysheet is wet. Then you can stuff the tent loosely into it till you get home and can do the packing properly.
A lot of folk just buy a bigger tent bag, btw. Unstructured holdalls are pretty good.
