We have just been forced to cut short our holiday as our new Bordeaux 6ZG has suffered complete melt down!  One windy night and not a pole left that hasn't either bent or sheared off completely!  Have been told by the supplier ABC Swansea that wind damage isn't covered by guarantee however I feel that this is a Consumer Act issue as the tent is obviously not fit for purpose the poles just aren't man enough for the weight of such a lage tent.

I'm going to bump this for you Rae as there's folks here who:

a) Know about Royal tents

b) Know about "fit for purpose"

c) And know plenty about ABC Swansea

Welcome BTW. Sorry your first outing was such a disaster.

Thanks Mike, still very unsure about how to proceed with ABC - if anyone has any advice I'd be grateful.  Royal suggested on the phone that they have had problems with ABC in the past.

Our disaster hasn't put me off just makes me determined to get the RIGHT tent asap.  Any suggestions welcome - prefer the tunnel shape but have had Outwell Hartford XL in the past, family of 5 with two 6 footers, need at least 3 bedrooms! Oh and I'm a fan of windows and multiple entrances!!!!

Sorry to hear about your tent disaster. 17

I'm sure I read about the problems with the poles of the Bordeaux 6 tents in the Tent Reviews section on this website.  It sounds like Royal have a problem with this tent.

My friends were going to buy this tent until they read the bad reviews.  I'm sure you have a case for "not fit for purpose" and hope you get your money back from ABC.

We were at Gibraltar Farm recently and the Royal Bordeaux next to us suffered the same fate one windy morning before our very eyes, twisted and bent poles everywhere, so is this a design fault?
