Having binned the Royal Bordeaux I now need the RIGHT tent. We are a family of 5, need 3 separate bedrooms, my son and husband are both 6ft so need something with headroom. I tend to prefer the layout of tunnel tents, didn't get on too well with the Hartford XL but am open to any suggestions. Our camping is mainly in the UK so we need a tent that will stand up to a certain amount of weather and accomodate us round the card table when the rain inevitably sets in!!! Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

I can highly recommend a Khyam tent. If you can find one then a 2007 or 2008 Khyam Ontario 8 would be perfect.
3 seperate bedrooms (4+2+2) Can accommodate 8 x 75cm wide airbeds Acres of living space (over 3m x 3m) Standing height (225cm) Very easy to put up Fits on a standard pitch (tent measures 7.5m x 3.7m) 2 massive windows with vents and curtains let in loads of light SIG Groundsheet goes flat at door so no trip hazard Cable entry system Doors can be canopied out to form sun shade
You can buy carpet and sun porch to make it a real home from home. We paid £189 for our 2007 tent and got the footprint groundsheet thrown in for free.
We love our Sun Valley 8 - I know they are discontinued but suspect there are still some out there. There are 5 of us and we liked the 3+3+2 layout, including the fact that one of the bedrooms is removable to make a massive living area if you choose to spend the day indoors.
The 2 youngest share a 3 man pod and there is plenty of space for them, our Aerobed fits nicely into the other back pod and the eldest has the 2 man pod to herself. Plenty of windows for light and dead easy to pitch!
If there had been porches available last year, then the Khyam Ontario etc was a close runner.
