Thinking about upgrading to a Wolf Lake 7, it's a bit on the expensive side so I want to make sure this is the right move, anyone got one, if so whats the good and bad points......?

Upgrading???? from a Cabanon to an Outwell????

I'm sure you mean ADDING to your collection!!
My OH would like either a BL6 or the WL7 ideally but since I keep buying others his tent fund get depleted before he can buy one. Though we are at present seriously considering TTs

I think these Outwells are worth the investment as they will be a long term buy.Go and have a really good look at them before parting with any cash.

Have you read all the reviews here

Some might not see moving from a canvas cabanon frame tent to a polycotton outwell tunnel as an upgrade.......It's a matter of opinion obviously.....(same as caravan "upgrade")......and I've got both so I dont see there being an issue......

I reckon you should go for it, the ZIG is fab and keeps all the bugs out, keeps the warm in and is very thick.

The Wolf lake is about as close as you can get to a frame tent in layout. It has a lovely feel about it, and would have been our choice but we found it a little bit too big. Went for the Norfolk lake instead and certainly do not regret it!!

Go and have a look at them if you can though to make sure you LOVE IT!! now is the time to hunt out the bargains!!

Emma

Thanks Emma......however it's not the case of just abandoning our cabanon for a polycotton, it is more through necessity, we need a larger tent and this is about as close to build quality as we can get to our current tent polycotton as apposed to polyester and also steel/alloy poles, I have been on some tent reviews and they make good reading but you can't beat peoples experiences through chatting here, I was rather hoping to pick one up in the sales towards the end of season as they don't come cheap, but they appear to be flying off the shelves and most places are out of stock so we think we will go another season with the cabanon and look next year, and just for the record & to pacify all the other hardened cabanon users, we have no intention of getting rid of our cabanon.

Just had a great 9 days at Trawsdir campsite Nr Barmouth.17

I had a Bearlake 6 - and sold it for a Cabannon Biscaya 370

On reflection - I think I made a mistake - I feel that the Cabannon is a better design - and better sewn - but - I really do feel that the Outwell was better VFM

Im now looking to Sell the Cabannon ( sorry folks ) and go back to Outwell - but not the Bearlake 6 -( nothing wrong with BL6s )  but Im going to go for a Wolf Lake 7 - Why ???  Probably because I cant think of a better tent anywhere than that - look - lets face it - if your going to lug a big tent aroud then why not make it "supertent" - the WL7 has everything going for it - its a fab size - has the enclosed canopy and has the perfect bedroom pod arrngement - Also the WL side extension is a massive 4 m wide - so its a really useable space - the Wolf lake 7 -!  Its in a league of its own !

Got to agree with you Simon......the WL7 is a very impessive size, I was looking at the quality of the BL6 today ( they did'nt have a WL7 on display) and was really impressed, as I said previously we are going to get another season out of our Cabanon and hopefully by the time we come to purchase our WL7 it may have come down in price a little.

Regards Bash......

I'm speechless, what the hell.....................sure the wolf is a nice tent if you want a bedroom for the car and your seven foot tall but not in the same league as a biscaya 440/500 but that's your decision, horses for courses and all that, good luck with your sale.

Hartley shakes head and very baffled
