Is this true? I'd be extatic if it wasn't.

I was speaking to a chap who runs an tent shop yesterday. Happened to mention my Khyam tents and he told me the company's gone bust. And taken Wynnster too!

Couldn't believe it. I've got 4 great Khyams so checked on line and there's a news release but it's only in Polish!!!!!!

What about warranties on tents and stuff?

How can two great names just fail like that? Corruption? Mismanagement? Incompetence?

And if it is true, what contempt for the loyal UK customers that have supported the brand to only release the facts in Polish...

Someone tell me it ain't true...

There's a thread about this under the 'leisure industry news' forum on here. Looks like the brands will end up being sold (Khyam, Wynnster and Karrimor). Lets hope they don't disappear altogether!

We thought this too but I suppose the market is very competitive. There are other manufacturers with equal quality and similar products now I think?

It will be sad news indeed if Khyam goes bust, as I love my Excelsior XL and Freelander, not to mention their 4-pole canopied windbreak, and the Atrium.

Perhaps I should get another 4-pole canopied windbreak while stocks last!

Karrimor are owned by another company (Sports Direct International), but I think that Eurotech had the distribution agreement for the brand.

They are in in the hands of the administrators which is not exactly "gone bust". They may well carry on via the polish branch of Eurotec but its all up in the air for a while. Lets all hope they carry on... As for the reasons its happened im sure someone at Khyam will know and people in the trade will have their ideas but sometimes you never get to know.

Prices are going to be good this time of year and spares shouldnt be to much of a problem. I think if Khyam stop supplying in the UK the quick erect models that are left over from this season could command a premium price next season.
