Hi, I am looking to buy an Outwell Sun Valley 8, it will need to be a secondhand one but having done a bit of research I am confused as to which models are which. Please could anyone tell me which year the one with the upright door and front porch was made? Is it just the 2008 ones which are like that? I have seen quite a few on ebay which are earlier and have the sloping door at the front, but some ads listing 2007 tents are using pics of the sloping front and others are using pics of the upright front doors. Please can anyone shed a little light on it? Many thanks!

Hi,

2007 and before have the sloping zip down front.
2008 models have the open front porch.

The other difference is the windows.
the 2007 and before have windows that zip open with a seperate fly mesh that also zips open, where as the 2008 model only has fixed clear windows, this imo was a cost cutting exercise by Outwell.
the windows in the 2007 and before are much better, but the open front porch imo is better,if only we could combine the two.

I think the closed in porch is better on the earlier models , but some people have issues with the sloping front door . that doesn't bother me, I like the way it can be all zipped up at night , and everything stays dry inside , kitchen stuff ,kids bikes etc, all stored inside.

its all down to personal preference really.
