We only acquired ours recently and while the canvas is very faded it is more watertight than any tent we have owned up until now and I just love everything about it.
Most camping shops carry a supply of frame tent/awning poles. Our local camping shop sells them for £1 each. However, they usually come in two diameters, so you will need to take one of your poles with you to make sure you get the correct ones. As for the length, don't worry, they are really easy to cut down to size.
Regarding 'extensions'. If by this you mean a canopy, I'm afraid it's a matter of getting whatever canopy is available & altering it to fit if necessary. You will also need to buy the poles from a local camp shop for this, but have a word with an assistant & explain fully what you need the poles for - hopefully they will be able to sort out the ones you need.
I bought a Lichfield canopy from a member of this forum, and had to reduce the width & lengthen the depth to fit our Cabanon Julie, but she looks a treat now with her new canopy
We got ours of ebay for £85, thought that there maybe a few issues with it so we took a spare tent, that was never to be, the kitchen area was fab, and coming in from a walk at night (from the clubhouse) it certainly holds the heat. now i just want to cover it with that spray to give it a waterproofing, or do you suggest leave it for now
Does it need waterproofing? If it didn't rain while you were away, then you should erect it in the garden (or a friend or relatives garden if you haven't got enough space in yours), and give it a good hose down whilst someone stands inside the tent to see whether any water leaks through. If there is just a very fine mist of water coming through the canvas, chances are that it has just been stored for a long time before you purchased it, so the canvas has 'dried out'. Leave the tent up to dry thoroughly, then hose it again. There shouldn't be any mist coming through on the second hosing, as the threads will have swelled up and closed the weave. Canvas naturally repels water once it has been weathered.
If any water does come through on the second hosing, then you may need to waterproof it with Fabsil.
thanks, it did rin while we were away, the first time there was a mist coming through one side, but thinking about it, when it rained again it seemed to be ok.
