Hi there,

In May last year I bought a grape/dove Vango Orchy 600. It has been used 3 times - once at Roskilde festival in Denmark, once in Glen Etive in Scotland & once at Bestival on the Isle of Wight.

I got this tent because it really is MASSIVE, and I wanted lots of space for me and my friends to spend time in, walk around in, at music festivals etc. Everyone tends to bring their own little tents but I wanted mine to be nice and big so everyone could be sociable and protected from the weather.

Unfortunately I underestimated how difficult it would be to get this tent around. Taking it abroad involves splitting it among mine & my boyfriend's luggage allowance, and even taking it around the UK is fairly difficult (we haven't driven anywhere that we've camped in it).

I had thought since I was being so generous by letting all of my friends use it, that they would be helpful - this wasn't the case. Struggling alone with the massive tent that EVERYONE was going to use, we always lagged behind everyone on the way to campsites etc (as they all skipped along with their disposable Halfords efforts) and no one ever offered to help.

The last straw came when I realised no one was even respecting the space I had provided them with - no one ever bothered to clean up their mess, and some people have even damaged it.

1 ] there is a little toggle here to toggle up the groundsheet to make it like a 'bathtub' at the door, and it has broken off. The one at the opposite side of the door is fine.

2 ] & 3 ] there are holes in the groundsheet here. The ones at the front door are 2 smallish cigarette burns (I refused to let anyone smoke in the tent, but it appears people sitting outside the front door can't even manage to not damage it) and the one further in is a little bigger than a cigarette burn.

The holes I'm sure could be patched up & repaired easily (they are very small) and I'm sure a new toggle could be attached to the door.

I really want to get rid of this tent, no one I go camping with deserves it, and I'd rather see it be used by a family or a group of people who will really care for it. I'm going to get a pop up tent & pop up living area from Quechua (so I can have a living area separate from my tent & can decide to leave it at home if necessary).

I still have the big box the Orchy came in, the tent bag is fine, all poles are fine, but you would need some new pegs. I feel like I've mostly 'had my money's worth' with this tent but at the same time I'm reluctant to give it away for nothing, so if anyone would like to buy it I will consider any offers at all.

Sorry this was such a long rambling post!

Hi Sinstar

What sort of price were you hoping to get for it? (And before anyone out there laughs at me and says I don't need any more tents I'm not thinking about this one for me, so there!!! 17 )

I am on a mission for a family I am doing some support work with to look for a secnd hand tent for them for next season - needs to have room for 2 adults & 2 children and have a SIG and having just looked up details of the Orchy 600 seems to fit the bill in those respects. But money is tight for them so one needing a bit of TLC that I could sort for them would be ideal.

Could you email me if it is still available with am idea of price please?

anne.ritchie at hotmail.co.uk  (without spaces obviously)

Thanks
