Hi all
Have just pitched my new Icarus 500 in the garden. Very easy I thought until I opened the door fully.

The problem was that the grounsheet was raised off the ground in front of the left side bedroom towrds the outer wall.

Everything else seemed ok but no matter what I did I couldnt get it to flatten fully.Any ideas what I've done wrong?

I would be grateful for any help.
Thanks in advance
Tania

It might be that you didn't have the flysheet level - maybe more over to the other side? Does the flysheet clip onto the poles on the outside? No matter what I do, I can never get our Tigris flysheet to be exactly level on both sides - the bottom clip is often higher up than it should be.

Hope that makes sense!

Hi, we had this problem with our Sunvalley 8 a couple of years ago and it turned out to be a fault.  When we went back to the shop to ask they said that a few had been like this and gave us a replacement. Not saying this is the case with yours but if you've tried everything I would go back to the shop and see if they can't sort it out.  If they can't pitch it right then they should replace it.

Thanks Moomin. I did think that the middle pole looked wrong, so maybe a bit of pulling of the fly sheet to one side might do the trick !!! I will give it another go.

Thanks Sassy.I did think,"Great I've got a dud tent" but I am hoping it was me!! If I dont get it sorted,it will be going back.

Thanks again
Tania

We have an Icarus 400 and ours also does this. I did some pushing and prodding and found that the inner tent is supported by elastic, so if you push the groundsheet down to the floor it just stretches the elastic a bit. Came to the conclusion that it wasn't affecting performance so ignored it. Tent stood up to 24 hrs of torrential rain, and the tail end of the hurricane in August, so it obviously didn't affect it at all.

We actually wanted an Icarus 500 but everywhere was sold out so we made do witht he 400. Was very happy with it, but may still upgrade to the 500 if it's produced again next year?

Thanks kyoto...Yes if I pushed it down it just popped back up!!! Didn't cause any tension anywhere. I am hoping that I can sort it the next time I put it up. I was in rush and hadn't pegged it out fully so I'm hoping that was maybe the problem...We shall see!!!

Thanks ICAV,I'm hoping it wont come to that though. ha ha

Thanks Tania
