Hi

Doing my usual nightly research on all that lovely camping stuff and found these pics of the new Vango range for 2010.

Looks like a mix of old and new. New models such as the Maritsa look interesting. Plus Salonga, Salina, Aruba and an expanded Icarus range.

I think they are also showing some new Coleman bits.

that salonga and salina look very similar to each other, but i do like the look of them!

artemis looks like they stopped production half way through the icarus and moved to the orchy, saying that they look better in the aruba polycotton.

but the maritsa looks a little bit too much like the wynnster eagle 6 for my liking.

The salonga and salina look nice,but are those footprint sizes correct!!

Salonga 900, 980cm x 890cm
Salonga 600, 890cm x 830cm

Salina 600, 940cm x 640cm

Surely a misprint?

If not then you won't get them on a standard pitch

The Salonga and Salina pictures on the opening page are the same!

Looks like Outdoor World Direct need to sort their website out

If you open the link, the Salonga looks very different, it has a big side porch for example.

I think the link picture was a preproduction model of the Salonga. The buzz has been correct-concentrating on smaller models , and overhauling the larger tents. Nice to see more junior polycotton tents -useful for any scout groups out there to name but a few .Looks like Coleman are making tents of more standard construction, should keep costs down. Looks like alloy steel poles are going to be more common place in medium and large tents-admission of pushing fibre glass too far ? Now, we have another month to wait and then the Outwell offerings will descend upon us .

Ohh, look at the Nevis. A lighter and more water resistant Tigris. I can see these ones being popular.

And the Icarus 300 looks great for a couple.

The Nevis made its entry mid season this year. Seen the 800 and 600 in the flesh . Proves that Vango listens to what people want . It is a very attractive tent . Looking carefully at the Coleman range for next year, it appears that packages of canopy, carpet and footprint with the new Mackenzie 4 and 6 will be strong value . Can't wait for the prices to come out as I fancy a small polycotton for just myself and DS for Scout camps etc .

Um - I like it ! Sure the OH will too. Happen to like khaki & any natural colours for tents especially. Can't stand ones which stand out like a sore thumb in a natural setting myself, different strokes I guess !

Each to his/her own of course. But I do like the natural and more muted colours myself.
