There is a video on "you tube" showing a chap from Yeomans pitching the Monty on his own (I believe he has several offers of marriage!). Basically you do one pole at a time, it's easier to watch than explain! We find it easier to pitch without the inner attached and we leave the doors partially open when putting up or down to let the air out. We still cant pitch it single handed though! It's a lovely tent, we have just got a carpet which I would recommend! Enjoy.

We peg out the two back corners first on top of the footprint. Then thread through and raise the back pole. Then peg out the two corner guys at the back. Then work forward a pole at a time. Our children will hold the poles upright while we do the next one. At the front we peg out the corners and the two front guys. Everyone else then puts in the carpet, coolbox, airbeds etc whilst I erect the porch, adjust all the legs and peg out the rest to try and ensure the material is smooth but not too tight.

It usually works well. We used to insert all the poles then lift them up in a oner, but my wife couldn't cope with the weight.

Same here Septic cept we have'nt got kids we found that the poles will stay upright if you tension them against the back corners another tip is a mallet apiece then your not galloping round the tent all the time!17

After watching the video on YouTube I have successfully put up the tent several times on my own and always in the rain!

Take your time and make adjustments to tension as you go along. Guess it's like a lot of things, that with practice it will get better.

Good luck

Mark

I think we do it the same as the video.
Me and hubby do it and to be honest it's a heavy tent and i do struggle but manage.

Basically we put one end up then hold that in place the the guy ropes.

Do the other end and rope it then do the middle then just adjust it all to get the shape befor pegging.
