Just wondering if someone could recommend a good medium sized ten (3 Man?). Used our campus one at the weekend which turned out not to be so waterproof so it got ditched.

We need something that can be used for weekends away, comfortable and something that I can stand up in (I'm 6ft). Price up to £130.00.

I have tried looking but there are sooo many I'm just not sure I'd be buying a good one. So, any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

We have the Licata 400 which is a great weekend tent.

If you search the Net, you can find it for just under £100

To be honest, a 3 man tent that a 6 footer can stand up in is going to be hard to find, it would be taller than it is wide, and so unstable....
Although a tent manufacturer says a tent will sleep 3, doesn`t mean that 3 people can live in it for a weekend. I tried with a 3 man tent, but with only 2 of us, and it wasn`t practical....
I would upgrade your specifications to a minimum of double the men required to live (ie a 6 man tent for 3 people to live in) This will mean you get a minimum amount of living space needed per man...
personally speaking, I like the additional luxury of an 8 man tent for 2 people, specially for a sustained period.
Hope this helps

I have just ordered one of these

If you are quick they still have some in stock at £139.95 and free postage. Seem to have good reviews. However, I gather the bedroom pod is only really suitable for two, but since it has a SIG there would be no problem bunking down in the living area. Looks to be enough room for about 10 in there 17

Vango Venture 500 or its ciurrent encarnation (dont know what they call it now) a Great 5 man tent best suited for 3 men and kit. We use them in our Scout Group and they are a great tent. We  also used one as a weekend tent when O/H and I went away with the dogs.

Resurecting an old thread we finally got our new tent. Went out and got a Vango Icarus 500. Just waiting for the temp to warm a little and then will go and try it.
