Once I had my Relum Canaria 4's frame repaired so we could use it as a weekend tent and I had purchased our Cabanon Athena for trips of 5+ days, I thought I had all the tents a couple could possibly need........... However, we are looking to take a trip to Spain next year. This will necessitate an overnight stop  in France.

We could stay in an Ibis or something similar. Trouble is I would not sleep a wink for worrying about the gear in the car and trailer sitting outside prey to all manner of nocturnal pilferers.

Another option is to sail down to Santander but a) it's too expensive and b) I don't fancy driving all night to get to Plymouth (approx 350 miles from Home) on time for the Ferry.

So........  what I need is another tent! It needs the following properties:

    i) Preferably made of polycotton rather than polyester.

   ii) Can be erected in 10-15 minutes or so.

  iii) Has a headroom of 150cm+ (crawling on hands and knees is not an option)

I know I am asking a lot but does anyone have an idea for the perfect third tent?

PS Have yet to approach subject of tent 3 with OH......should be an interesting conversation.

Although as you're buying specifically to be a quick-up-and-down overnighter I'd propose that you drop your requirement for polycotton and get something small, light and cheap. The Quechua base 4.2 pop-up seems ideal. 

But really, an overnight guesthouse would be better, and you don't have to risk your car in  a town centre car park. Look to stay in an out of town B&B which has off-road private parking rather than a chain hotel and you'll be fine.

Definately a fair weather camper. I don't like rain. Rain + Tent = Trouble.

The link I did wasnt a pop up Keely. It is a Nomad pc larger pup tent type thing :)

DS was going to get that one but it he said it was too big just for him . Would be great for a short stay tent for a couple imho and is very good quality so the price is excellent :)

Don't know about Bertie, but I fancy one of those Outwells myself...OH would kill me..
