Just back form Dorset where a force 9 gale was blowing, snapped my Bear Lake 4 side poles and 1 of the main poles, 7inche rip on the side, and a whole jar of wet sticky coffee all over the inner tent (which is now in the WM).

Anyone know of a good tent repair specialist and where to get new poles and poss a new inner.

It only the 3rd time we have used it and today has been a disaster!!

Can't help practically but this is the risk with camping this time of year. It was lovely down here yesterday and but overnight and this morning it was bucketing down and blowing a gale (as you found out!). It's lovely now, enough wind that the washing is blowing well but the sun is shining and it's fairly mild.

It might help if you say where you are then hopefully someone can recommend a tent mender somewhere close to you.

Hope you get it sorted x

Oh no! I would be gutted if that happened to my BL

This site do replacement poles
http://www.camperlands.co.uk/store/erol.html

Go to Spares and Repairs and then Outwell spares

Sorry can't help with inner and repairs - an internet search should help with repairs

Hope you get it sorted :)

Lee, you could try these guys for the repair to the tent fabric:

Bristol Sails
Albion Dockyard,
Hanover Place,
Bristol, Avon, BS1 6UT

Telephone: 0117 922 5080

Fax: 0117 927 2370

Poles should be available from Outwell suppliers.

Inner tent should wash ok, and if it doesn't you could stain the whole lot with a big pot of coffee - I understand mocha was an in colour!

PS The reason I keep mentioning sail makers is that they're geared up for making strong repairs in large areas of canvas without losing the shape of it. Seems to be what's need with tents!

Thanks everyone

Inner washed out a treat, no staining at all

Repairs and poles now sorted but a costly mistake

Still feel sick about it, but if I had pegged it out properly Im sure the tent would have withstood the gale.

Thanks again

Lee
