Does anyone know what's on the cards for the Norfolk Lake in the 2010 range?
What I like about the 2009 model is the all-in-one main bedroom pod (with divider) and the separate room. For our needs, the separate room makes a handy (private) toilet and storage area, while the divided main bedroom area will sleep adults one side and teenage son the other.
With just us two adults, we'd omit the toilet room and use the other half of the bedroom area for toilet and storage. After a lot of deliberation, this ticks enough boxes for us to be considered a suitable Vermont L replacement!
With all that said, I'm treading carefully here because I don't know what the 2010 model will bring; that's assuming there will even be one! What I don't want is to buy the 2009 Norfolk Lake model now and mothball it unused over winter only to find a killer/must-have feature in the 2010 range.
Admittedly we can carry on using the Vermont L. It's a fantastic tent and apart from needing a little seam sealer ours has a good few seasons left in it.
It's just that the Norfolk Lake is the only tent that would seemingly work for us and tick every box that the Vermont L does currently (with the big bonus of being polycotton).
Does anyone know if this model is available in 2010 and if so, how does it differ to 2009?

I know exactly how you feel as Im in the same boat.
The thing Im thinking about also is that I can not find any carpets or the footprint anywhere as they are all out of stock. And if its discontinued they wont be making anymore next year I guess.
And If im spending that much on a tent I want to get the whole setup!

I bought the whole set up and love it. If I could modfy it would I? Actually, probably not, or not much! I have the side extension and use this as the main entrance. We leave our shoes in a collapsible box out here. If it's raining we make a mad dash into the extension then have time to take off our shoes. If it's baking hot we roll up the front. It is a bit of a pain setting up the side extension and it was a bit noisy in the wind so maybe a Norfolk Lake with built in side canopy would be the way to go. But at what cost? I think there will be a modified version, it's too good a sellar not to be upgraded. But what will it cost. Also we have trouble fitting tent, extension and poles into trailer, how heavy would it be if the side bit was attached?

Our Vermont L side extension is quite noisy in the wind to the point that I've regretted putting it up on occasions. It's helpful to know that the polycottons aren't totally immune to generating noise in this respect either, although I'm sure the thicker fabric is a lot quieter.
The Outwell range is looking good for 2010 and we are working at getting it up on our website for early/mid December. With regards polycottons, although it's true that the Arrow Lake and Norfolk Lake are discontinued, the Wolf Lakes, Bear Lakes and Trout Lakes are continuing there will be a new 'River' range which looks fantastic and will be well worth waiting for before you make a final decision.
Sorry, I've probably made the anticipation even worse.
I wouldn't worry too much. Spares, etc. should still be available out of Outwell in Denmark. It will be a matter of you contacting the retailer you bought from and chanelling your requirement through them.
Regards,
Paul
