Oh Yes, yet another My New item.

Just bought a Vango Juno 300 off ebay. New £21

I only intend to use this on the beach, even though I already have the little Argos tipi, it will save me carrying the flexi poles that I just bought. Any weight I can save is a bonus. I'll probably sell the little tipi now, with any luck I'll get nearly the same price for that next spring. Any excuse for a new tent,

A tent is like a newborn born baby..... to some they all look the same..... but if its yours it's beautiful.

Ah ha!! I had it on watch but missed the end of it - I was thinking of it as a little pup tent (yes, yes, another one) You;ll be glad to know I didn't actually get around to bidding so it wasn't me who shoved the price up lol

Glad it got a good home.

Hi pager33,

I already have a Peace 800 that I have yet to camp in. Would have gone this weekend, but the forecast was bad. Bridlington has been wall to wall blue skies and no wind today or yesterday. Grrrrr

tbh I wish I'd gone for the 800 not the 500. We went in the Juno 800 at a meet this year and thought the space was fab but then saw the 500 for £69 and couldnt resist. Cheapest I've seen the 800 polycotton is £150, any ideas where I could get it cheaper? I see Outdoor Megastore are selling the Juno 800 for £79

Well I had an afternoon on the beach, and as always have decided to modify this tent slightly. It is really good for use as a day shelter and I did have a heavy rain shower while I was on the beach, so it came in really handy just sitting inside, watching the beach empty of people. I have decided to use the Range tent system, with an A frame outside the tent. The Juno 300 has a loop on the top, so it's easy to just hang the tent from an A frame, this will free up the whole inside. I did try using fibre glass poles set in an arc over the tent, but it was too windy for this method. It could be done using two sets of poles as in a dome tent style, but that would increase the weight I would have to carry. So an A frame looks like the way to go.

I suppose I will have to consider doing something like this with my Peace 800 to clear the inside pole. I'll just have to see what it's like when I have a proper camp in it

Congrats Raf!

We're off in our 500 tomorrow. Have got some velcro strips to attach to the bottom of the door so it will close properly. Lovely little tents
