my new montana 6 tent arrived today. on opening the box it appears that there are no poles, the tent is in a large blue holdall, and thats all there is. do the poles come in a separate bag?

Poles come in a seperate bag.  We collected our Monty from a London shop not realising there should have been 2 bags.  Idiots that we are didn't put up tent until on holiday in Yorkshire, could find no poles. Had to make do with our emergency 2 person tent for the 1st night then bought a larger cheap tent for the rest of the holiday.  We'll never make the same mistake again!

I presume you have had the tent out of it's bag and unrolled it? Only my Caroline 3 tent poles are in a seperate bag but they were rolled inside the tent within the tent bag when it arrived...just a thought.

i unrolled it the best i could inside, i could not feel any thing felt like poles inside it. i would of thought that there would be quite a few.

There should be 2 cardboard boxes,one with the canvas and one with the poles in.The poles always have their own bag.

Ok...doesn't sound like they are there then. What about the tent pegs...are they missing too? And it might be as well to check that the guy lines are present.

there was a small bag that felt like it had pegs in it, looks like its just the poles that are missing. i emailed millets yesterday but heard nothing yet. i'll ring them tomorrow.

Trust me you will know if the poles are there, they wont fit in the tent & you wouldnt lift it either, the pegs are in a separate bag & the guys are attached.
