does anyone know if the montana 6 tent poles have been redesigned at all over the years, or have they kept the same design?

The poles have been redesigned at least 2 times to my knowledge. 2006/2007 are slightly different diameters. I have two sets of poles for my Monty and they are not inter-changeable, don't know the years of them though.

thanks for the reply, so both sets fit through the tent ok? so if i get a complete set of poles regardless of the year there should be no problems.

Yep, should be no problem. A set of poles will set you back £200 in some places. Best to keep your eye on ebay, I picked some up for £85.

just one last question before i order, as you have both pole sizes which do you think are the better of the two if any?

Not much in it. But the pre 2006 seem to be a better quality. IMHO
