Last year we thought about buying a Vango extension for our Orchy tent, but were put off by a review saying they were hard to attach and leaked at the point they were attached to the tent.  We would still love to buy an extension, and just wondered if anyone else had had problems or not!

Hi Happycat,

We had an Orchy 600 with the large canopy and it worked just fine. The only thing we did to improve the fit was to do away with the 2 guys that run from the elasticated section over the tents doorway by simply replacing them with plastic C clips and a shorter section of guy line and then simply clip them onto the 2 front dome poles just below the pole sleeves on the tent. Works great fits better and you dont trip over the guy line when you use the side door.

Get one you wont be sorry

Now THAT is the most fantastic idea!!! I am SO going to try that as it's the only part of the canopy fitting I'm not always 100% happy with, especially with the guy ropes obstructing the side door of the Orchy, and they are more likely to slip, but a clip would be far more secure!

Thanks for the top tip 2go! Oh dear... I'm actually getting excited about modifying my canopy... Non-campers would say that's sad, but I know everyone here will say it's totally normal!

Glad you like the idea Chelz.

If you, or anyone else are scratching their heads as to where to get the bits then try:
