We have a large all singing and dancing tent for longer trips, but our beloved Lichfield Arapaho that we use for weekends is on its last legs (its served us well considering the low price of it)
So need suggestions of what to replace it with. We are two adults with one child age 7. We want a Sig, and a reasonable living area and our budget is around £150 with an absolute max of £200.
Can anyone suggest anything for us to look at and consider.
Thanks

Try having a look at Vango - you can get some excellent deals on last year's 4/5 berth tents, with good designs and sufficient room for the three of you. Check out dealers and sellers of new tents on ebay. The Orchy and Tigris, come to mind both with SIGs and well tested designs (see the reviews). The occasional 5000HH, steel poled Vango Columbia 400 comes up on ebay too. The last one went for £174 plus postage - but that was a bargain!
You must check out the new Kampa tents. I discovered these from a chat on a similar thread and now I'm adamant I want a Bude 4 or Frinton 4!!! There are quite a few ppl expressing an interest so I may need to pre-oder one!
Enjoy tent shopping and happy camping for 2010!
------------- It always rains on tents. Rainstorms will travel thousands of miles, against prevailing winds for the opportunity to rain on a tent.

I can highly recommend the Licata 400 - we have it as our weekend tent and I love it. Really quick and easy to pitch, SIG, massive windows, door canopies out to form a large sun shelter, spacious living area, bedroom pod can be divided if necessasy and you can now get a carpet!
If you search the Net, you can find it for just under £100 - BARGAIN!!
I'm waiting for Monday to order a Vango Icarus 500 (2010) from Camperlands in their sale. Price will be around £125 if you can wait til then, and should be that price for all of Feb.
Seems to tick all of my boxes (ie a good sized tent for me & a 9yo, but can also take wife and 4yo for a weekend if needed)

Have a look at the new Coleman Coastline range, the 4 deluxe and above are all available as a "package which includes the tent, carpet, canopy and footprint.....
For something almost bomb proof there are still some Sunncamp prism's around for £149 with carpet from awnings.co.uk....Again i'm biased but hey we have one and its fantastic!!!! quite heavy but really easy to pitch and very roomy... (we are the same as you, 2 adults and a 7 (almost 8) year old
As others have said the new Kampa tents do look good but there are sooooo many that would fit into your price range that recommendations would come through till you were really confused LOL
If you are not in a hurry, IMO it is always best to have a wander around a dealers outdoor (or indoor) display before you make your final decision as what you see online is not always what you expect it to be!!! plus you can get a real feel for the tent and imagine all your gear in it......
Thanks everyone for the ideas. We are lucky cos we do have a tent dealer just up the road, who always has a large display of tents, bought our large one there, but they dont do all manufactors obviously and wondering if we were missing out on something.
Will have a look at all the suggestions, its just to give me some ideas.
The manufacturer that you may find missing is Kampa, which doesn't have extensive dealership coverage as yet although they have an excellent range of products. We face that problem!
I think we have decided on the Wynnster Montpellier as its the vis-a-vis Layout that our Lichfield has, which has worked well for us and its reasonably priced
