can anyone recommend the best extension for the vango icarus 500. I do not want the canopy, I want an extension that I can close up (door at front).

Yes the Premium Extension does fit on the Icarus 500 (not the 600), and can be seen in my gallery.

I would recommend it over the sun canopy, I don't even close the main Icarus door, just keep it open all the time. I think the extension makes the tent.

If it's stormy you're advised to take it down, but that applies to all sun canopies, porches and extensions.

I understand from Vango,they have a new extension coming out that will be compatible but may not be colour matching.

I have purchased the new vango front enclosed canopy for my maritsa 500 2010.  Unfortunately the colour is not an exact match, the 2011 range is now true blue and last years tents smoke/ocean.  To be honest it does not look too bad a colour match.

Try wwww.springfield-camping.co.uk, who seem to be listing the Icarus 500 2011 front enclosed canopy as in stock ( along with other 2011 canopies for variouse other vango tents ).
