I'm looking for any advice / guidance regarding the Khyam Freelander Flexidome 2009 tent. Would welcome your opinions / views as I am thinking about buying one.
Regards,
Mike.

I have the Freelander Deluxe. Its OK. Plenty of room for two or three but I wouldn't want four of us sleeping in it.
I am not that good at getting the bottom edge right down flat to the ground and so consequently there is a bit of a gap around the bedroom sections. I would prefer a sewn in ground sheet to be honest or at least one that can be fixed up with velcro bathtub stylee at least.
One thing that does bug me is that you have to virtually crawl down on all fours to get to the bottom of the zip that is at the bottom of a very sloping doorway from inside. If it has been raining whilst zipped I can guarantee you will get a plop of water on your head. Thoughtful design would have put a double kind of zip that could be undone from the top as well.
You can stand up in it if you are up to 6ft tall. I am only 5'2" so find it plenty spacious. I was surprised at the cost of the ground sheet at over £35 but it is the exact shape of the tent so a bit of a captive market there.
I like the Khyam method of setting up but get a bit nervous if other people try to get involved as the joints and poles seem a bit delicate. Having said that nothing bad has happened.
However one of the bedroom poles has a nasty bend in it. We can still use it it just looks a bit odd. This is not good considering that we have only used it around 5 times. I am told these poles are not that expensive, I am just a bit disappointed that it has happened so quickly.
I love the way the door is used as a porch during the day and for meal times but I do struggle with keeping the poles to it upright in windy weather.
There is a distinct lack of handy pockets to keep things in that I have seen in other tents as well.
We did have a bit of a downpour on one of our expeditions and we all kept cosy dry so no problems there. I can set it up on my own in about 25 minutes so for that its good.
