what do you people think of this??? it seams to tick all our boxes as we was looking for a smaller easier tent to pitch for weekends away with the kids. but for one thing, i am not sure it has fly screen on door? this is a must for us as last yr we really needed the one on our Gelert Zenith as there was loads of fly's/ midges all week.
what do you all think of it and Easy Camp in general???

A friend of mine has a Boston 600. Not my cup of tea mainly because its all windows at the front, and the canopy is a bit naff (not something you can sit under when it rains), but it looked decent quality when I gave it a look over.
The 400 or 500 look like better options. Can't say I noticed if it has a mesh for the door, but I thought it is a fairly good tent - definitely zips all the way round.
Easy Camp are part of the same Danish corporation that own Outwell (Oase Outdoors ApS), so have some heritage.
Spec looks good on paper, and from what I've seen of the 600 well worth a look. Maybe difficult to see one "in the flesh" as I've never seen any Easy Camp on display.

Camping & leisure world in Frensham has a 600 set up. You could give them a ring and ask - they are very helpful.

Spoke to my mate this lunch time, and its a no on the mesh door.
There are some mesh vents above the front windows, but that's it. Also the door is not a zip all round - the sig folds out to form an entrance flap when the door is open, and then folds up "bathtub" fashion and fixes to the tent walls when closed, but he says it is a nice tight fit that wont cause any drafts.
Your search criteria are very similar to mine. I'm going to wait for the nearest Yeomans show and take a look at their range if I see nothing before then (end of this month). I'm now resigning myself to the fact that I'll have to fork out a bit more than anticipated.

I have the Licata 400 and think its a great weekend/small family tent. Am looking to buy a canopy to give me even more space to chill out and hoping to get the carpet this year!

This is the one I want to see. A local store (just go to tent section) will have them in soon (end of month the guy told me) and one will be on outdoor display. Not too far for you to travel from Leeds.
They are doing a "deal" where you get tent, carpet, canopy and footprint for £199 or just the tent for £130.
My only concern is that this tent is a bit cheap for a Coleman, and I can only assume the 2000HH material is the thing that lets it down, but seeing will be believing.
Unless they have cut corners to lower the cost you should find it has all round zips on the doors and meshes.

Why not give the Kampa Bude 4 and Frinton 4 a look - they have flymesh on the doors along with 100D polyester flysheets which is stronger and lasts longer under UV impact than the polyester used by the other main tent manufacturers, 4000HH too!

The Frinton 4 is also on my list of suspects, but I can't say I'm taken by the Bude, but thats just a style thing - nothing wrong at all with the spec.
Hats off to Kampa though for some good contenders this year.
The real downer to all this "which tent" business is there is no tent retailing "Nirvana" you can go to and see them all "in the flesh"

I know what you mean about the displays ! By early April some of the retailers should have their displays up, and some of them will include the Kampa range (any dealer selling Kampa tents are chosen because they have displays). These dealers will generally also stock and display the other main makes - Vango, Outwell etc - but whether there is one in your area? It would be quite a treck for us, but we've fortunately not done bad buying blind up to now. Saw their quality in the flesh last year, so that will have to do for us.

I must admit I would want to see any Coleman tent before buying. Our Coleman Rock Springs 4 has some nice features and is great for that one night stop off on the way to our main camp, but I don't think its fly and especially the outer zips would stand up to the wear of regular weekends away. But they may differ, which would be why I would want to have a look at one.

been all over the place today around 150 miles round trip called to Camperlands to see there tent display and don't recon too much to the Coleman although it was the Coastline 600 we looked at on display and to be honest not upto much. and we also drove to Liverpool to Outdoor Megastore to see what they had on display and we liked the Easy Camp Boston 500, nice use of space and BIG windows looks nice and airy and also the bedroom divider zips on and off rather than a couple of toggle things that most others use. we think we are going for the Easy Camp Boston but it's so hard choice as there are so many around in our price range....... NIGHTMARE

Good to hear about the zip divider on the Boston 500 as that's what I want to get for weekend camps and I don't want the kids poking me in the night.
Did it look as though it could be set up easily by one adult (i'd have a 7yo to help)? Can you let me know if the bedrooms lokked wide enough to take 2 camp beds in 1 pod as well
Cheers nikki

setting up looked ok as its a tunnel tent no poles to cross over each other if you know what i mean, one adult i suppose it could be done but you may need the help of your 7 yo to pull tent outwards (concertina) style when one side is pegged down and poles are in. regarding the camp beds not sure, would fit 2 single airbeds in fine you would have to check measurements of camp beds.
hope this helps
