Hi.. Just Like to say hello to everyone on here as im new..

I'm New to camping and have just purchased a Wynnster Raven 8 after lots of searching and i mean lots.. went for this as it seemed to be a good price at £150 and didn't want to spend too much if i find campings not for me and my partner..

Now I've got it a can't wait to try it tho.. so am thinking of trying it out this weekend on an outing to Buxton...

i've Bought a footprint ground Sheet, the tents got a sewn in ground sheet, I've got a carpet that is long enough to fit under one of the bedrooms, a self inflating matress, sleeping bag and a heater..

What are peoples opinions on this. Should I wait for the weather to pick up..

am i going to freeze to death. ha..???

Jonathan

NAAAHHHH!
You won't freeze to death BUT it is really important to make sure that you have the right sleeping bag and extra layers of clothing ( lots of thin layers are better than a couple of thicker ones!). You will need a 4 season sleeping bag for the weather this time of year and decent insulation from the ground (air beds are nigh-on useless at this time if year and self inflators are deffo much better IMO)....
Wynnster have always been a good brand and you should find that as a tunnel the Raven is quite easy to pitch and with the added extras should be quite a nifty set up

Welcome to UKCS BTW

thanks for the replys guys..

Just got back from 3 days camping... the tent was easy to put up and i was impressed with the living space and the size of the tent..

the weather thru the day was amazing not a drop of rain.. it was very cold at night tho -6 on a couple of the nights.. but with the extra lairs of clothing and an extra sleeping bags and a small heater on we managed fine..

the site where we stayed. http://www.bulliththorn.co.uk/. was really good.. even had the sunday carvery today b4 we left which i would recomend..

only down side was when taking the tent down was the amount on condensation that had built up under and around the edge of the sleeping pods at the ends of the tent was quite a shock.. took a couple of towels to dry it all up..... and i need to practice folding the tent back up as it just dont quite fit in the carry bag at the min.. lol

other than that we had a great first time out in our tent and cant wait for the next time which should be the 1st week in june unless we cant wait that long.. ha..

Hi, glad you had a good time. Dont forget to leave a review of both your tent and the site you stayed at. Have you made sure all the tent is completely bone dry as it will cause mould spots to appear the next time you get it out.

Hi,

We were Barlows tent buddies on Saturday till Sunday.

This tent is Fab, so much so we've ordered one for ourselves.  We currently own 3 tents (which we will be selling 2 off) and I thought the latest one we have was great until I saw the Raven 8.  There is so much space in it, it enables you to enjoy being inside the tent if the weather is bad, without being on top of each other or being banished to the bedrooms. We are going camping for a week in July to Newquay and it will be ideal as we are taking 2 kids with us, so we will all have loads of space. Thanks Barlow for letting us stay.

The Bull in Th thorne, is a lovely little pub, with great food, in lovely country side off the beaten track, not usually my  thing, but I throughly enjoyed it and will be returning again, in the warmer weather.
