Hello everyone!

My first post :) We have just brought our first brand new tent!!! the Icarus 500, I am looking to get a canopy for it but unsure which to get? Ebay have a black one:

here

But is it worth spending a bit more and getting the one which is for the Icarus 500? I don't want to have any gaps down the side and would like one which matches the colour of the tent, but not sure if its worth the money?

First camping trip of the year in April :)

Hello and welcome to the forum. First post.
The Icarus has been around for a year and was very popular last season and is likely to be so again this year (which may explain why Outwell has done a copy ths season) but VANGO only brought out the dedicated canopy this year. Last year many Icarus owners bought the large sun canopy (as you will see in the member uploaded images here).
A recurring debate in these pages is whether you have to have matching kit. At the end of the day you pays your money and makes you choice. As a general rule you can pay more money for matching accessories or less for something that does the job. But don't worry, if you go for non-matching kit you won't be the only ones.

Hi Monkie,

You just asked the very same question I was going to post!  I have looked at the Vango tunnel canopy which Outdoor Action are selling for £49.95 (steel poles). From what I can work out this wil fit over the side door of the Icarus, an arrangement I like and have seen photos of  in the Icarus tent review section.
