Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone who has one of these tents, zips out the grouindsheet every time they pack up, or can it be left on making it easier (or not) for pitching the next time. Never having used a tent with a zipped in ground sheet before was wondering if this is possible?

Hi,

we have the trout lake and never unzip the groundsheet to pack the tent away however,we do use a footprint under the groundsheet which helps to keep it clean.

the tent and groundsheet pack away into the bag really easily.Do make sure that the canvas is dry though!

Fantastic tent,you won't go far wrong with it especially if you can get the front canopy to go with it

I have to admit I am tempted after looking at one this week. Started off years ago in a small nylon dome tent. then from then on its been cabanons all the way really. Do have a couple of kyhams and an outwell oregon 5 but like the idea of a polycotton and fell in love with the trout lake when we saw it.  Always use a groundsheet with all our tents but obviously its a loose one.

Love the extension on the Trout Lake. Looking at the video just didn't fancy all that crawling about zipping the groundsheet in everytime ( not so young anymore) With our frame tents you just lay it over the inner flaps which is quite easy really.

BUT, the choice of 3 doors, all those meshed windows and the canopy of the Trout Lake are very appealing I must say.

A Trout Lake is on our shopping list too. Were a couple and the size is perfect for us. We looked at this tent packed away and it is far more managable than a Bear Lake 4 which was the other option. We love the Bear but feel it is too big for what we need so the Trout it is. You wont go wrong with this tent.
