We had a Vango Diablo 900 for 3 years before getting a caravan this year. It has loads of space for a large family. My son used to sleep in the middle as it was the warmest part of the tent and he is very nesh!! If you buy a second hand one make sure it has the second bedroom pole which was added in 2007 this give headroom in the bedroom pods. Many people are selling the older versions without this pole. The diablo has been discontinued this year but i have been told it will be re launched again as it is too popular. Also we camped for the whole of the school hols and the diablo withstood extreme weather -wind and rain where many tents were destroyed.

Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
one thing , as said it will rain at some point in your camping trips , and i would'nt want to be in anything but a vango if the weather turns really bad, wind and rain are a tents worst enemy ,lots of the tents mentioned in the posts will take the rain but not the wind as well, gsx 100 r man has got it spot on go for a vango aspen or diablo 900 xp ( the newer model with the double looped bedrooms if poss ) second hand ones are easy to find and vango has a lifetime guarentee no matter who bought the tent new.
i actually found that none of the vango (or any other for that matter) tents were big enough for us, untill i found the outwell maryland xl! it is a fab size and the layout is just perfect for us! the trouble is that of course, the bigger the tent, the longer it takes to pitch and the more 'stuff' you end up taking!!! some sites wont accept us in one pitch (the tent itself is 9m X 6m not including guys!) but thats fine, i will just go along to the next one!!
we have a mini bus with a huge boot space, and space under all the seats, and a trailer!!!

hi there. I have a Sunncamp Mondial 1200 which i am about to put on ebay. Think it may suit your family. Has 3 bedrooms with a large living area and a separate porch.
Thanks all for the ideas and advice. We have been to Barratts today to have a look and still have not made a final decision about the tent we are going to choose. We would really like to see a 12 man tent erected but a 10 man Meridian tunnel is the closest.
We do have some boot space even with 7 seats up so we would aim to put the tent in the car with the pushchair, clothes, stuff up in the roof box as we have got one of the largest roof boxes. Well thats the theory anyway although hubby has been looking at trailers, lol!
So no decision made any suggestions on where we can view 12 man tents in the Midlands area?
if your on about barratts of fecknaham dont to it there very expensive
theres towshore in halesowen or even e-bay , or shop on line ,, we got our tent for the amasing price of £155 , and u carnt tell me the vango 700 is a small tent no way its 24ft long and 18ft width ,
sorry but i think its well more than capable for catering for a familt of 7
