the past two days ive spent reading on here and looking at tents which i think will be suitable for us, 1 adult and two kids 8/11 and more than likely them bringing a friend each, i like the look of the steel poles for strength and have narrowed it down to a few (which changes by the minute) anybody have any views on the following, vango columbia 600, kampa croyde, hi gear corado 6, its our first tent and really want to get things right so kids will want enjoy and want to go again, thanks in advance, dave ps, if anybody as any other thoughts the would be most welcome.

I would go for the vango or the kampa over the hi gear. The cool thing about the kampa is the already built in canopy. Have you looked at the Easycamp Boston 600? I love how light and airy it is.

Hello and welcome to the forum. First post!!

I believe that the Kampa will sell for £300. As such it stands out for me as being the best option. The Corado appears to be of better quality than last year but is £50 more expensive and, from what I've read, not up to the quality of the Kampa.

thanks, yes i think you could be right, will try and find somewhere local where i can view the kampa set up, really liked the outwell montana when i viewed it the other day but its a bit pricey and the kamapa is the nearest thing ive seen to it, plus as you said it already as the built in canopy, would be ideal if it also had the vestibule type entrance/storage on the side like the montana, its harder than buying a car this ;-)

to be honest we love this kampa, it's got the canopy which can be tied back if it's too windy, but handy for cooking under too. i've camped on my own with the boys in the past and found other campers asking if i've needed a hand and if they haven't i've asked them! there's always someone willing to give a hand.

Yours definately wont be the 1st to end up in a spin. Looking back on your 1st post I notice you have an 11yr old, maybe they could help you setting up? Keep those sort of things in mind when looking around. Keep us posted on which u decide.
