After studying tent sites for weeks we've finally decided on the Carolina M.

After reading reviews we're fully aware that it more comfortably sleeps 2 rather than 3, but my question to owners is do you think the bedroom space would fit our Greyhound as well as us? We've previously had an Aztec Merida which had a 2 man bedroom that was the exact size of a double airbed so definitely no room for the dog, is there space around the double airbed in a Carolina?

I know you may suggest he sleeps out in the living area but he's a big wuss so that isn't an option... although I suppose he could share with me and my hubby could sleep out there

Search for any website that sells the carolina m, take a note of the bedroom pod dimensions and compare that to the dimensions of your double airbed. Not all airbeds are the same width or length, you might need to physically measure your own or if you're buying a new one take this in to consideration. If you've already got one but you know the make or brand you can google the dimensions.

I failed to do this check when I'd ordered my new tent, and started buying airbeds for it. I bought three single airbeds at 100cm wide each - therefore 300cm. Then I checked the internal dimensions of the tent I had on order - 285cm!!!

Anyway before you purchase your tent you'd need to check this out if this is one of your basic criteria. You can always choose a different tent or get a double that's not so generous but don't put your husband out of your bed for a dog! Even the nicest dog!

I have the Nevada S which has the same sized bedroom as the Carolina M.  My son and I slept on a double matress and there was still plenty of room both at the foot end and the sides for rucksacks; so I would have thought that a greyhound would fit.

We have the carolina M and i'd say your dog would have plenty of room beside you, we use ours for 2 adults and a 10yr old and the dog (who will sleep with us and shes a biggie)  but i'm used to it and shes added warmth

Hi There,

It's a long shot... but we stupidly bought the wrong sized airbeds for our 2009 Carolina M... I was wondering if anyone has any idea if another tent pod (from another brand or from Outwell) that was bigger could be the answer?... not bothered if it does not fit perfectly but as long as it fits the air beds (that are too long and we don't like them across the width) then it's an idea....

Anyone tried this?

The trouble is that there is limited space between the inner tent and the flysheet and you need this space for air circulation. If you were able to find a bigger inner that fitted, then the space would be reduced, and the last thing you need is the inner touching the outer, as it will get wet by soaking up any condensation on the inside of the fly.

We put our airbed from back of the pod to the front...rather that sideways in the pod as advertised on all the sites.

Its a tight fit for the airbed but it still goes.

This means there is about the width of a single bed next to our bed...and thats where our dogs blankets go.
