Hi Folks,
The Artemis has not been added to the review section just yet so i thought i would post some pics & info on the 500.
Packed in a single bag which includes, tent, poles, angle joints, bedroom pod(not attached) pegs, instructions and....... upright poles to create the canopy! very pleased as these are usually sold separately.Erection was very easy..... similar to an Icarus or standard tunnel tent, but with steel poles.Once up the tent seemed huge for a 500....we have an Icarus 500,but the Artemis seems so much more roomy,i can only assume this is the effect of the hightened middle arch. The bonus for us is the Icarus carpet fits perfectly!
Found it went back into the bag ok,kept the bedroom pod in......
The quality is good as you would expect from Vango, but seeing as it was a sunny day and we had it erected for approx 30mins theres not much more i can tell you apart from saying it looks like a winner......
Anyways.... will add to reviews when we have camped on it,enjoy the pics.
Canopy poles included...

Rear view...

Interior with shy daughter!

Steel Poles

Great windows

High middle beam....

Oh I love the windows in the front door! I was just saying on our last trip that's what I'd love the Orchy to have...
It's a nice looking tent. Been inside one at one of the camping stores recently. A bit like the Orchy but in a tunnel stylee...

Hi blzeebub,
It is a really nice looking tent,it would look even better fully guyed...
Funny.... steel poles are new to us as well, we have only used fibreglass in the past and have an Icarus, but the steel poles were very simple to use,you basically thread three steel roof arches through the threads, add an angle and then a leg which fits in to the ring & pin....pitching time i hope will be fairly similar to the Icarus approx 15-20mins?
Interestingly this was the first tent our daughters have helped pitch,i think the chunkier, basic steel poles are more kid friendly!
Chelz, the windows are great and they even have an interior zipped non see through roll down cover, wife loves this as you don't get those peeping Tom gaping sides like you do with toggles.Girls think the windows add character, they call the tent Herbie!

The Aretmis looks great, and I am considering buying one, really on your review and pictures, but have read on a different site, that the steel pools, can go rusty, have you had a problems with yours?

We've got steel poles on our Outdoor Revolution - its been used for 12 weeks over 4 years in all sorts of storms and lots of rain and we don't bother drying the poles if they get wet - not a bit of rust on them.
So if Vango poles rust its Vango rather than steel poles in general.

Hi galdeb69,
No rust so far.... will keep you posted, we did bend a pole which was our own fault! lapse of concentration and being too cocky when putting the tent up! this is where Vango came into their own, rang on Monday afternoon, had a chuckle with the sales girl and new pole arrived Tuesday morning £10 can't praise them enough. The Artemis is a really good tent, can't fault it, we previously owned an Icarus, but in terms of stability the Artemis is a clear winner, pretty sure it has a zip front door unlike the Icarus...can't remember for sure? also comes with free canopy poles to raise the door, nice tent and very pleased so far, using it this w/e so if there is anything else i will let you know.
Cheers HL.

The tent looks really great plenty of space and the size of the windows is superb. Any chance you could post some more photo's of the tent with all the equipment in it to see just how roomy it is?

Here we go... all i can find of interior, please ignore the 'wonky' tent, that's down to the bent pole!
Plenty of room, you will notice a portable bench on the left and table for four on the right, the young fella was hoovering up our pringle crumbs. Will try & get some better ones at the w/e.
Cheers.

Hi,
I got the Artemis 600 a couple of weeks ago and have used it the last two weekends. The tent seems really tightly stretched at the top front when doing the zips up, they seem to be under a lot of stress. I can see it in your 'great windows' picture also. Is this normal?
Also the steel poles are quite difficult to get the pins into the bases of some of them - it feels like the tent could eventually be damaged with all the extreme stretching required to insert some of the pins.
Have you noticed these issues at all?

We've got the Artemis 500 and used it twice so far. We love it!
We were dreading the first trip as hadn't even opened the bag to check everything was there, let alone had a practice run lol! We did watch the very good video on the Vango website and just hoped the canopy was as easy as all we could find were pictures to see how we thought it went!
We didn't have any stretching by the zips or difficulty with inserting pins. It's the first SIG I've had and am so pleased with how quick it went up. We had this tent, the pup tent for kids and all equipment in, windbreaks errected and air beds up and duvet and pillow cases on with beds all made and having a cup of tea within an hour. We've got a lot of stuff by the way and two kids with us and four dogs, so it went like a dream.
TCx
edited to add that we bought the footprint so don't know if this helped as it sat perfectly on the footprint and made sure that we positioned it all exactly as it should be. OH moaned at the expense but when it came to putting it up agreed it was excellent, and after taking it down after 5 days it was perfectly dry underneath and folding and cleaning the footprint was a hell of a lot easier that doing the same to the SIG
