I brought the new one about a month ago and tried it out last weekend. Very sturdy when up, my only real critism is that 2 of the 4 side panels are clear PVC which seems to get very hot. Still it'll suit my needs and not badly priced.
If you want to know anymore let me know, got some pics too if any use,

Mark,
Can the door(s) be opened up on poles and used as a canopy?
My honest answer is i'm not 100% sure! You def don't get the poles with it to do this but I can't see any reason why you couldn't get some poles & do it yourself.
As you can see from the pics, we had ours linked to another dayroom so the door in the middle was hooked up although not as a canopy. Sorry not to be more helpful,
Thanks for the response though!
I'm currently debating whioch tent to take on the easter break - either the montana 6 or the quechua 4.2 xl which we want to get a dayroom for as well, for a bit of flexabililty.
Hi I bought the Dayroom a few weeks ago on offer from Argos for £85. I tried to put it up in the garden with the kids and we really struggled! Hopefully it will be easier with another adult. Any tips would be welcome.
I am planning on taking ours with us at Easter with the small weekend tent. It is quite big though so I am not sure if the campsite will charge us extra.
Your pics look great Mark and the extra space will be really handy.

We had about 4 adults last time we put ours up, 1 on each corner & it was up within minutes. Grab a couple of people from round you on the site, most people will be happy to help. The problem when these are new is that there is no give in the material which makes them even harder to put up. After a couple of goes the material will loosten up an bit making it easier to put up.
Thanks Mark. I can understand what you are saying about it being new, the plastic windows were all stuck to each other and I had to gently peel them away before we started.
I struggle with our main tent to get the pins into the steel poles on my own because I am not very strong and I think I am going to have the same problem with the Dayroom. I feel better knowing its not a nightmare to put up though and with OH helping I am sure it will be fine.

Hi ANGEDAWS
I know nothing about the Daytent, but I do have a great tip for getting the pins in (picked up on here I may add)
When the tent is upright, seperate the bottom section of the pole and pop the pin in the loose section; then snap the pole back together - much easier than struggling with the pin (and a lot less dangerous ouch!). Hope that makes sense!
Thanks Zenobia, never thought of doing that before, will definitely give it a go. I can see that it would be easier to get the poles back together than struggling to get the stupid pin into its hole!
Have learned so much from coming on here - and I have been camping for a long time!

Hi I know this thread is old but didn't want to start a new topic on the same subject. Just wondering if owners can provide more review on this tent and how it stands up against wind and rain.

Hi there,
You can fix the door up as a canopy but it's not all that brilliant as a canopy. We mainly use the Dayroom to sit in when its cold or raining & for storing chairs etc in at night.
You can also roll up the doors up. I can't remember if you get poles to make the door go,as a canopy tho.
Hope this helps,
