The carpet has been the best buy for our tent yet. Makes it alot more comfy to walk in, keeps out cold from the ground and just feels great on your toes. Well worth getting.

Just got back from camping at easter in our Columbia 600, similar to the Monty - you certainly felt warmer walking on the carpet than on the groundsheet of the inner tents (and they have 3 layers of groundsheet from the bare earth!). The carpets really make a big difference. They will also protect the SIG from wear from chairs and other furniture. At least with the side entrance of the Monty you won't be walking mud into the main living area of the tent. Someone has just put a new picture up for the Vango Columbia 600 on its review page that shows the advantage of the enclosed side entrance and separate porch groundsheet - the MUD! We found the same. Our carpet stayed lovely and clean.
i have'nt got a made to measure carpet for my tent,i thought they were a bit expensive for what they are,but i wanted something to put on the floor,so i bought 4 fleece blankets from asda (£16 for all four) and stiched them together it fits lovely and it does'nt move around once everything else is in the living area.
it makes a big difference and it feels really nice on the feet.
i dont think we could do without the monty carpet and recommend it, only with it had some way of stopping slowly creeping down the tent (ours does anyway).
Like others have mentioned its a big space to cover with picnic blankets!
