Hi Jo.
Like Ann describes there is a little technique, hard to describe, but gets easy after time, fact is the zips are very heavy duty YKK jobbies, which is about as good as it gets, I do carry a tin of zip lube, (no jokes please), but as yet never had to use it on my Biscaya's ZiG/ZiP, we always start the zip's of from the front/doorway, working on the outside of the tent, not sure if you can do them from the back to front, never tried. also we have the smaller 370 so less zip action going on, which probably makes attaching the ZiG easiar than on the 440.
